Drone View Line Photography & Aerial Perspective — West End Apartment Site
May 24, 2025 - 3 minutes readUnison Projects tapped Visual Spaces to deliver precise drone view line photography, aerial perspective imagery, and height-based view simulations for their future apartment development at 15–17 Mollison Street & 35–39 Bank Street, West End. Our mission: visualise the outlook from multiple floor levels before construction begins.

Project Overview & Visual Context
With sweeping views across West End, South Brisbane, and over to the Brisbane River, view potential played a major role in design decisions. We were asked to document line-of-sight visuals, view corridors, and elevation perspectives that inform layout, orientation, and marketing strategy.
How We Capture Height-Accurate View Lines
To achieve precision, we deployed a DJI Mavic 3 Enterprise drone with RTK positioning. That allowed us to capture each image within a vertical tolerance of ±0.1–0.3 m. Every viewpoint aligned closely with architectural slab levels, enabling “what you see will match what gets built.”
From multiple floor heights, we collected:
- From multiple floor heights, we collected:
- Drone view line photography
- 180° panoramas and wide-angle imagery
- Interactive view navigation app so stakeholders can explore view corridor captures per floor
- Metadata and geolocations for use in DA / planning reports

Deliverables: View Line Imagery, Interactive Viewer & Simulations
Our output gave Unison Projects a powerful visual toolkit:
- High-fidelity aerial perspective photos from each relevant elevation
- View corridor captures showing how lines of sight interact with adjacent structures and green spaces
- An interactive viewer for switching between levels and visualising future outlooks
- Height view simulations integrated into planning packs and presentations
Why View Line Photography Matters for Developments
This isn’t just pretty imagery. View line photography brings clarity to what’s often speculative. It helps:
- Architects optimise massing and unit layouts based on confirmed outlooks
- Developers assign value by view zones and unit hierarchies
- Buyers/investors experience real site outlooks before committing
- Planners and councils see verified sightline data rather than render approximations
With drone-based view corridor capture and line-of-sight visualisations, the project gains much stronger design and marketing grounding.
